Voters have a right to know who is funding a candidate before they cast their ballot. Making this information public before Election Day isn’t the norm, but it should be.
I’m not accepting developer donations, and I am committed to taking big money influence out of city politics.
Should I learn that a developer, their family member, or employee has contributed to my campaign, that donation will be returned.
The City of Ottawa already publishes this information of donors above $100 from all political campaigns after the election, but my campaign is going above the minimum standard for transparency by disclosing our donors before voters head to the polls.
